Recently, I was discussing cover songs, and how they often don't live up to the original version. I'd argue that this could be an exception to that rule.

I'd argue in the negative on that one, but it was interesting.
Has anyone of note ever covered a Bowie song? ... It gets me thinking about artists who get endlessly covered... Lou Reed, Bob Dylan...
Does everyone just listen to the original and say, "Heck, I can sing better than that..."
Apparently Nirvana covering "The Man Who Sold The World" or Bauhaus covering "Ziggy Stardust" escaped your memory.
Totally forgot about the Nirvana one... but Bauhaus is stretching it... and you know that I am (was) a fan.
I'm just a ball of confusion on this one.
