Wow...I can't believe it's been twenty-five years. It still feels like yesterday.

"I read the news today, oh boy."

I was a senior in high school and living on Long Island, so naturally my radio was tuned to WABC. I woke up and Dan Ingram, who was doing mornings at the time, sounded abnormally somber. It took a couple of minutes before the whole story filtered through.

As it happened, I was the guy who did the morning announcements on the PA system at school, so I was able to put together a quick synopsis of the events of the previous night and do a report for the school at large. So for a bunch of people, my PA announcement was probably the first they'd heard of it. Weird that I never thought of that before.

I was only 5 when Lennon was killed but I remember crying for him, as I loved the Beatles from a very young age.

I mentioned John Lennon (and this song! My indirect way to give the war supporters a hint) in my post yestereday...and then I discovered it was the anniversary of his death. What a huge loss to the world.
