Ok, So...

...the typical Saturday errands that involved buying a bottle of wine to go with dinner has turned into something else entirely. Little local purveyor of spirits was having their spring wine tasting this afternoon.
Oh. My. God.
Six bottles later, and a really good buzz, and I never went food shopping.
Happy fucking Saturday everyone!

Hahaha! My old roomie, Darren, and I went shopping for groceries one Saturday afternoon. I was going to teach him how to make some Vietnamese food. We spotted a new Belgian bar on our way to the train. We decided to stop in for a quick beer.
Uh... we ended up falling off the bar stools that night.
Happy fucking Saturday, indeed.

I feel like I dipped into almost everything Courtney and I bought today! First I cracked open my favoritest beer: Sam Adams Summer Ale! We went out of our way to find this today - apparently it hit shelves less than a week ago! Then I just HAD to try a bit of the Captain Morgan Special Reserve rum we bought - very tasty! Then with dinner we had this award winning Chardonnay from Virginia that a friend sent us. Tomorrow it might be time for margaritas or my other favorite summer drink - mojitos! Whee!

Glad you asked, Trouble. A bottle of Knotty Pines Zinfandel, which was wonderfully cherry and spicy and absolutely knocked me out, a bottle of a riesling which was also quite exciting (although the name escapes me. Gee, can't imagine why...). A Mondavi white called Bocce, which was crisp and will be terrific served cold on warm, sunny days. TWO bottles of a Rosa Regala (?), which is a sparkling dessert wine, which is surprising and playful and very strawberry and raspberry flavored. It will be outstanding with a light chocolate dessert. Saving one of those for Easter. And a sauvignon blanc, also lovely and crisp. Much fun to drink and the tasting was a blast. I hadn't been to one in a while.
