Five Years

Today is a hard day for many of us. Strong memories, unhealed hurts, too many pictures still floating out there. So, a simple question for you all, and a beautiful song, is my contribution to the memorials today.

Where were you, and how will you remember?

i was riding to work on a motorcycle because i had to go take a rider's test because for some reason when i had my license switched from az to co that endorsement didn't transfer over. i was at a stop light behind a jeep with a soft-top and they had their radio blaring. all i could hear was stuff about dark smoke and fire. i thought it was local news and when i got into the office i asked one of the guys what was going on. he told me about the first plane. i left to go get my license and while i was waiting in line, the word came down to close all government offices. i should've failed that test, mainly because i was worried about whether or not i was going to have to leave work and report in at the unit and i was mentally trying to plan everything out in case that was what happened.

2 weeks later orders to report to active duty were being faxed to me. 2 weeks after that i did.

not sure how i'll remember. it's just kinda been happening all day. mostly i'll keep the guys still deployed in my heart.

I was busy trying to kick the shit out of some liberal bastards who were still whining about something to do with Florida and the internet inventor, Al Gore. I stopped for a few seconds, made the liberals look at the TV, and screamed at them that it was their wishy-washy attitude that caused America to become so weak. Then I finished kicking their asses.

Unfortunately, they obviously still have not learned their lesson.

I don't think anyone has "learned their lesson" yet. And please, identify yourself in my comments. Stand by your vicious opinions as your own, or don't even bother voicing them. Learn THAT lesson, ok, because when we don't stand up for what we believe, that's when we get attacked with our pants down.

Fuck you very much.

See? It's comments like these that continue to polarize the debate in this country. It's comments like these that make it impossible for people to talk to each other.

My point is, and will remain, stand by your own words. If you can't speak your mind and identify yourself while doing it, just don't speak.

Got it, Denver?
