Shiny Happy Monsters
The Five Creepiest Cameos in Sesame Street History (spin.com).
I don't know about creepy. Odd perhaps, but not creepy. I was reminiscing with MJ about other performances; he remembers Stevie Wonder jamming on "Superstition" once, and it being awesome. I distinctly remember James Taylor singing "Up On the Roof", too.
Are there any that stand out in your brains?

I remember the first airing of Shiny Happy Monsters...
I made a point of watching it... Did I record it? I think I did...
When I worked at CBSNews.com, we had a bank of television sets, each tuned to a different station. I remember walking by one morning when Shiny Happy Monsters aired and asking, "What is REM doing on Sesame Street?" I'll never forget that whole newsroom coming to a complete stop and everyone staring at that screen in amazement/disbelief!
Gee...I always rather liked James Taylor doing "Jellyman Kelly." The kids were having a riotous good time.
"Put Down the Duckie" was a good (and star-studded) bit, too.
Can we count Abbey Bartlet as a creepy cameo?
Oh, the Muppets could be its own separate category of weirdness. Elton John was on the Muppets, too.
